Fans of Hiroyuki Takei's Shaman King series have plenty to celebrate following the recent announcement that a new anime adaptation of the manga will be launching in April 2021.
Shaman King, which follows the adventures of Yoh Asakura, a shaman, who seeks to reshape the world by winning a renowned tournament, originally ran across 32 volumes and has sold over 35 million copies. Back in 2001, it received an anime adaptation that ran for 64 episodes, ending the following year.
We don’t have too many details to share yet, but you can see the impressive announcement trailer below. Given how popular the original anime was, this is bound to be giving many of us a much-needed dose of nostalgia.
A keen gamer, photographer and podcaster, Tom is always looking for new anime and manga to explore; if you have any to suggest, give him a shout.
