NIS America announces Disgaea Mayhem

An all-new direction for the fantasy fighting strategy RPG

Written by Ross Locksley on 26 Feb 2026

Now here's an interesting take on the Disgaea formula, and perhaps a bit of a risk - the isometric strategy RPG is taking on an all-new dimension with Disagea Mayhem, switching the tried and tested for a first-person perspective. Whereas previous entries in the franchise saw you managing a team of demonic misfits in typical SRPG fashion, you'll now be playing as "N.A" exclusively and traversing the world first-hand chasing flan. Certain elements, such as the Dark (Chocolate) Assembly remain, so it'll be interesting to see how this change of focus works.

About the game:

The princess needs her flan in this brand new take on the venerated Disgaea franchise. Take direct control of the action as N.A., a mercenary with a discerning sweet tooth, as you mow down monsters in the name of money.

Equip weapons from seven different classes to play in seven different ways! Whether you want to use the tried-and-true sword or the ranged bow, you can always switch your weapon to switch up the way you play!

The more things Magichange, the more they stay the same. Grind levels, improve your equipment, and pass new bills at the Dark Chocolate Assembly to make the numbers go up until you're dealing millions of damage with every hit! You can even recruit classic demons like the Prinny to bring along with you! It's time to experience Disgaea in a whole new way!

Trailer:

Disgaea Mayhem is kicking off on Switch, Switch 2, PS5 and Steam this summer. Keep up to date with the official Disgaea Mayhem website.
