New Cat's Eye series to debut on Disney Plus in 2025

As part oft he Disney 2024 APAC event in Singapore, a new anime adaptation of Tsukasa Hojo;s Cat's Eye manga. The format (movie, series) wasn't revealed, but the anime will feature a cover of the original 1983 Cat's Eye opening theme by Anri will be provided by Ado. who also provided tracks for the film, One Piece: RED.

The story centres around three sisters who run the Cat's Eye cafe by day, but act as art thieves by night. With the original manga running from 1981 to 1985 and the 37 episode anime running from '83-'84. It was a big hit in Japan, and often talked about in UK fan circles, but wasn't released in this country. In January of 2023 Amazon Prime Video released a Lupin III vs Cat's Eye crossover which helped bring the series to modern audiences, with a live-action French series now filming too.

Seems that Cat's Eye is due a renaissance next year and this time we can all enjoy the series together.
