Japanese publisher KADOKAWA have launched their World Manga Contest which is open to applicants from anywhere in the world, with a chance to debut as an artist in Japan.
Last year's contest drew over 1,100 entrants and this year's competition is aiming to be even bigger. There are two categories - Manga with Dialogue (standard manga works) that can be written in Japanese, English, Spanish, French and Chinese) and Wordless Manga which can be submitted without any text whatsoever.
There are three cash prizes on offer - $10,000, $5,000 and $3,000 (USD), but more importantly the winners will receive editorial support for serialization. You'll be invnited to Japan for an awards ceremony and a special tour of the editorial department, plus winning works will be published on KADOKAWA's comic portal, KADOCOMI.
