Happy Marriage Behind-the-Scenes documentary on Youtube

Kadokawa has released the first in a series of behind-the-scenes documentaries for their hit show My Happy Marriage which is streaming now on Netflix.

 Complete with subtitles, the video covers storyboarding with Director Takehiro Kubota who takes us through his tought process behind the creation of cut #303:

“I purposely aimed for the end of Episode 1 to showcase Miyo and Kiyoka's first meeting, peaking at Miyo being smitten by him. [...] I focused on including a wide variety of visual transitions, and to create rhythm with zoom in and zoom out effects.” (for this scene.)

This is followed by one of Kinema Citrus' keyframe animators discussing the challenges of the scene and the strategies behind bringing it to life. This is followed by an "inbetween" animator showing us the process of filling in the gaps between keyframes.

In all it's an excellent video and the English subtitles are much appreciated. You can watch the video below:
