GundamMad bring on The Day Of The Gundam in 2025

Written by Dawfydd Kelly on 08 Aug 2024

Fine purveyors of all things plastic & mecha GundamMad have launched the website for Day of the Gundam, a convention dedicated to the franchise in all its forms.

The event is slated to take place on the 12th of July 2025 and will be held at the Leicester Tigers Rugby Ground, Mattioli Woods Stadium, Welford, Leicestershire. Beyond the obligatory (and no doubt absolutely stacked) dealers room, current plans for the event include panels, workshops, quizzes & competitions, as well as screenings of anime from across the franchise. Exact details are still to be confirmed as we are still just shy of a year out, but things should update closer to the event proper.

Tickets are priced at £25 per-person and children under 6 go free.

I am tentatively intrigued by this - the folks over at GundamMad have been stalwart advocates for the Gundam franchise, and it's excellent to see them taking this step to provide a dedicated convention for it here in the UK. With a bit of luck a member of the UKA team will be able to attend to provide a run-down of how the event pans out.
