Crunchyroll stream Sekko Boys, Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju, BBKBRNK this winter

You know the drill - another day brings us another trio of new simulcast announcements from Crunchyroll. So, what's been added to their line-up now?

Sekko Boys - I suspect many of us are fed up with idol anime at this point in time, but how about this - a series about actual stone idols of famous figures who also become idols in the pop culture sense? That's exactly the premise of this original series from Lidenfilms.

Episode one of the series is available right now, with future instalments airing every Friday at 4:40PM UK time from this Crunchyroll page.

Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju - If you're looking for a slice of history this winter, then manga to anime adaptation Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu might be for you, given that it tells the story of a former prisoner who has decided to become a rakugo comedy performer, and the young man who becomes his apprentice. Studio DEEN handle production of the series.

BBK/BRNK - It's CG time again, this time courtesy of Sanzigen (of 009 Re:Cyborg fame), who come at us with an original series this winter, otherwise known as Bubuki Buranki. The "Bubuki" of the show's title are sentient weapons, and the "Buranki" a colossal being which lays dormant underground - both items which could prove important as series protagonist returns to Japan after a decade away only to be assaulted and imprisoned.

The series begins today, Saturday 9th January, with episodes arriving each week at 3:30PM from this Crunchyroll page.
