February figure focus with E2046

Muramasa: The Demon Blade was a beautiful action platformer/RPG released in 2009 on Wii. In the game, players could take control of a ninja or a Princess named Momo.

Obviously for this piece we're looking at Momo Hime, which has been put together as another pre-painted Gathering kit from E2046.

“Hime” can mean either “princess” or “pretty girl” in Japanese and Momo Hime is certainly both. As an ancient Japanese princess, MoMo Hime wears a bright red kimono with various elegant decorations. The character design is awash with gorgeous touches, from the flowers in her hair to the floral print on her Kimino. The stripey stockings and short kimino add a modern flourish to the character, and the hand-painted details are really strong on this figure.

The gathering figure comes with two heads, with only a slight difference between sculpts which can make the figure either demure or mature depending on your preference.

The final touch is a green spirit next the sword, which is translucent and looks fantastic if back-lit.

The custom base is by Gathering and isn't included in the kit-form of the figure, which is worth noting if you're on the fence about whether to paint her yourself or let the experts do it.
