Walkure to release W Encore album to commemorate final live tour

Written by Ross Locksley on 27 Mar 2024

Kicking off back in May of 2023, Walküre’s FINAL LIVE TOUR 2023 Last Mission was the largest arena tour in Macross history.  Beginning in Tokyo at the Ariake Arena, the tour consisted of six performances across Tokyo, Osaka and Chiba. To celebrate the passionate response to the sell-out tour, the band will release a live album titled "W Encore" and will be released on June 5th.

The six arena tour, which attracted 74,000 fans, was released on DVD and Blu Ray in three different editions and was warmly received by fans and critics alike.

“W encore” will be released in two formats: a Limited First Edition and a Standard Edition. Both editions will include a 3-disc CD set containing all 43 songs performed during the tour, primarily focusing on the final performance at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall on day 6, but also including performances from Ariake and Osaka, totaling approximately 200 minutes. Particularly noteworthy are the three songs exclusively performed at the Osaka show: “NEO STREAM,” “Ai Oboete Imasu ka,” and “Welcome to Walkure World!,” which were not included in previous video releases.

We'd recommend using a site such as CD Japan to order the album outside of Japan, I get all my vinyl there. You can use the link below to see the albums, UKA makes no money if you use it:
