The Celsys 24th International Illustration Contest is now open

Celsys, the Japanese company behind the incredibly popular Clip Studio Paint software, is holding it's 24th illustration competition, inviting artists from around the world to join in and celebrate the art that brings us together. Work must be of original characters and nothing that might be considered "fanart".

This year's theme is Skies, Space & Stars. You can see how to enter on the official website.

From the Press Release:

We regularly hold illustration contests open to the entire world! Our previous contest saw more than 3,500 submissions from 92 countries.

This contest aims to support creators around the world and encourage more artists to create illustration. Contest winners will receive prize money and other prizes as well as having their work shown to a wider audience through various media such as Facebook and Twitter.

Submission period: June 23–July 15, 2020 23:59 (GMT)/July 16 08:59 (KST)

Result announcement: Thursday, August 6, 2020 (may change)

How to Apply
Submit illustrations using the application form. Images must be PNG or JPG format and can be up to 5MB.Fanart cannot be accepted. 

Awards and Prizes

  • Grand prize: 200,000 JPY
  • Runner-up: 50,000 JPY
  • 2nd–5th place: 10,000 JPY or Clip Studio Paint EX download version
  • 6th–10th place: Clip Studio Paint PRO download version or 5,000 GOLD*
  • Honorable mentions (10 winners): 1,000 GOLD (worth approx. US$10) for use on Clip Studio services, a Clip Studio Paint discount code or Clip Studio Paint DEBUT
