Shonen Jump's new anime series Hell Teacher: Jogoku Sensei Nube

Shonen Jump's new anime series Hell Teacher: Jogoku Sensei Nube has a new teaser visual released, and as part Remow's line up, chances are good that this will get a worldwide release in a similar vein to My Deer Friend Nokotan and Tonbo! As such, it's very much on our radar!

The original manga from Shou Makura (story) and Takeshi Okano (art), the series was originally serialised in SHUESHI's Weekly Shonen Jump from 1993 to 1999. Based on classic urban legends and ghost stories, the titular Nube Sensei defends his students from these otherworldly threats with demonic powers of his own. The manga sold over 29 million copies in Japan and became something of a cult hit. 

Official Synopsis:

A number of inexplicable phenomena have been plaguing the town of Domori. In order to protect the town's children, a new homeroom teacher known as “Nube” arrives.

Normally gentle and a bit outgoing, Nube has a secret side: he is, in fact, the only psychic teacher in Japan. Rumor also has it his left hand is possessed by a demon!

Hell's messenger of justice is here to take on the school's seven mysteries, ghosts, and evil spirits attacking his students. This occultist action story starts now!

The prolific voice actor Ryotaro Okiayu (Byakuya Kuchiki in Bleach and Kunimitsu Tezuka in The Prince of Tennis among many others) has been announced to play the lead, Meisuke Nueno (aka Nube) and offered the following comments for fans of the series:

After receiving the passionate message, "We want you to protect the kids of Class 5-3 once more!" from Makura-sensei and Okano-sensei, the demon's power returned to my left hand! 

I have so many feelings that I can't talk about enough, so I'll try to make this short…

"Heavens and earth, give me the power to defeat this demon and bring forth the light of dawn

Keep your hands off my students!"
