Releasing today, Shikon X is an unusual little title from publisher Treasure Boy and developer Kindermann Corp. on Steam and Nintendo Switch. Charmingly retro in terms of presentation, the game is purportedly a point and click adventure without the pointing or clicking.

The story revolves around female pilot Major Daaia, who receives a mysterious message from the Rolars (mankind's greatest enemy), leading her into an intergalactic adventure that contains a deep story inspired by 80's and 90's anime.

Shikon X

You'll traverse unfamiliar planets, meet a slew of oddball characters and uncover the truth behind humanities war with the Rolars. All this and some moreish retro minigames to move the action along too.

A demo is also available, but when you're ready to take the plunge, the title is £10.29.

From the Press Release:
Shikon-X features a variety of playable arcade mini-games throughout the adventure. Fend off invaders from space in a retro-inspired arcade shooter, or flaunt your flipper skills in a fully-featured pinball table. Every mini-game serves a purpose, with certain story beats developing through these scenes!
