Punk Pop band Tokyo Syoki Syodo make their major debut

Generating quite the buzz globally!

I don't often post news about the latest Japanese band to make a debut, but since Tokyo Syoki Syodo (or Tokyo Syoki Shodo depending on the translation) have been blowing up, with Amazon even sending me alerts on my phone, I figured I'd better get on the bus!

The band aim to infuse punk spirit and pop sensibility from Japan, with bold, intense and unpredictable music which has gained praise from their live performances at home and around the world. The four-member girl band has been touring the festival circuit, with appearances at SXSW 2024 and the Fuji Rock Festival '24

Their self-titled debut album was published by King Records on September 24th - below is their first music video for "Sayanora Rendezvous", described as a bittersweet portrayal of fleeting love and its end, embedded below for your enjoyment:

If you'd like to find out more about the band, the members and all the social media platforms they appear on are below.

Members:

  • Vocal&Guitar, Sheena
  • Guitar, Mare
  • Bass, Asaka
  • Drums, Nao
