Ninja Scroll TV Series re-release from MVM with Collector's Edition planned

Written by Ross Locksley on 29 Apr 2024

MVM Entertainment will be re-releasing the classic Ninja Scroll TV series from 2003.

The planned release date is July 1st and while the exact format has yet to be confirmed, I've spoken to Tony Allen and the plan is a Collector's Edition in a rigid collectors box and 6 art cards, but this has not yet been finalised.

The TV series was a direct sequel to Yoshiaki Kawajiri's seminal 1993 film Ninja Scroll, which was released by Manga Entertainment in the UK and was a major milestone in bringing Japanese animation to the West.

Featuring wandering ninja Jubei Kibagami, the series follows his adventures protecting the fabled relic known as the Dragon Stone and its bearer Shigure, the "Light Maiden". The series also sees the return of Dakuan, the government spy who helped our hero in the movie.
