NEO have confirmed today that issue 245 will be their last. After 20 years of publication, the magazine closes with a cover featuring MVM's The Demon Girl from Next door.
Two decades of UK anime print reporting is now retiring, Godspeed to all the writers.

Via a few reliable industry sources who have shared correspondence, we have to report that it appears NEO magazine will be shuttering its doors, with the final issue likely to be released in October.
While we were waiting for an official announcement, we're releasing the news now to caution people about buying online subscriptions at this time which are still available via the publisher's website and sites like News Stand.
Rising production costs and a shrinking readership are the likely causes, but the magazine has had an impressive run of 20 years under the editorship of Gemma Cox. The magazine hosted regular contributions from Jonathan Clements, Andrew Osmond and Tom Smith.
NEO was redesigned in 2016 to a larger format with cheaper paper stock, and also began publishing far more pictures to reduce the word count. Uncooked Media was taking huge losses at this stage, and although it continues to trade (with significant liabilities), it was taken over and the magazine is currently published by Select Publisher Services Ltd owned by Timothy Harris, which also publishes Wrestletalk Magazine and Inside Crochet among others.
It will feel very strange not to see NEO magazine on the shelves, and its a sad loss not only for the visibility of anime as a medium, but also for those who worked on the magazine and will have to move on.
We reached out to Select Publisher Services for comment, but have not received a response.
