Crunchyroll has announced a theatrical run for Kaiju No.8: Mission Recon, one of the hits of last year's anime season - we loved the first cour in our review, where we summed up with -

9/10 - Great characters, sharp writing and visceral fight scenes make this shonen anime stand out in a crowded market. Fans of the genre will love this.

We weren't wrong, fans adored the show and that seems to have prompted a new film  that edits together the first season of the show into a feature length movie which also includes a brand new ending song, Invincible, by One Republic. On top of this, a brand new, cinema premiere of Hoshina's Day Off which will play at the same showing.

The film will be available in subbed and dubbed formats, with screenings starting on April 16th

With help from his junior colleague Reno Ichikawa, Kafka hides his identity while striving towards his life-long dream of passing the Defense Force exam and standing at Mina's side. But when a mysterious intelligent Kaiju attacks a Defense Force base, Kafka faces a crucial decision in a desperate situation...

Hoshina’s Day Off Synopsis:
