Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube gets new trailer

The release of Hell Teacher is coming ever closer (July) and to whet your appetite we have a brand new trailer which shows off the series and is taken from a livestream with the creative team held earlier today.

The series will debut on Youtube channel "It's Anime" - In this trailer, we can see the students who ask for Nube’s help, the mysterious young man, Tamamo, who seems to know Nube, the girl, Yukime, who claims to be Nube’s fiancée, and Nube unleashing the power of his Demon’s Hand to fight against the evil force.

The director will be Yasuyuki Oishi, the head writer will be Yoshiki Okusa, the character design will be Yuu Yoshiyama and the music will be crafted by Evan Call. Here’s the messages from the creators:

I was one of those Nube readers who found it terrifying yet couldn’t look away. Now, with the anime adaptation, I’m thrilled to have the chance to bring that same terrifying experience to everyone as part of the staff.

I never imagined I would be the one designing the characters. It’s a truly mysterious twist of fate.

While cherishing the Nube of our memories, I aimed to create a completely new Nube—one that’s fun to draw and animate.

I had a great time composing for the Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube anime! From horror and school life, to Nube’s charm and dependability, it rides a unique and fun balance that I hope you’ll enjoy. Some of the music also has a nod and a wink to the original! I can’t wait to show you more!

Hiroshi Tateno (CV. Ryoko Shiraishi)

A student in Class 5-3 at Domori Elementary School. With a bright and energetic personality, he is a central figure in the class. Though blunt and often charging ahead without thinking, he also has a compassionate side and cannot ignore a friend in need.

Ryoko Shiraishi’s Comment

I’m so happy to be playing Hiroshi Tateno in the modern adaptation of “Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube”! Thank you for your support! With Okiayu-san at the center of it all, there was a reassuring sense of stability. Even though I was nervous, I still felt like there was a warm atmosphere on set.  I’m giving my all to portraying Hiroshi, who is a cool (hopefully? lol) character with a strong sense of justice. The show is airing late at night, so you might end up too scared to sleep…but I still hope you’re looking forward to it!

Kyoko Inaba (CV. Aya Suzaki)
A student in Class 5-3 at Domori Elementary School. Frank, diligent, and reliable, she values friendship above all else. Strong-willed and a little rough around the edges, she often argues with Hiroshi, but they get along in their own way.

Aya Suzaki’s Comment
I’m Aya Suzaki and I voice the role of Kyoko Inaba.I never could have imagined that a future like this was waiting for me back when I watched Nube every week on TV as a kid. It really feels like a dream come true!

The cast is also full of people from that generation, and they were so friendly with me outside of the studio too. I think we have made a scary, engaging anime that adults like me who grew up loving Nube and the new generation can equally enjoy. I really hope you look forward to watching it!

Miki Hosokawa (CV. Tomoyo Kurosawa)
A student in Class 5-3 at Domori Elementary School. Curious and mischievous, with a playful personality. Despite her free-spirited nature and tendency to speak her mind, she is warm-hearted and caring.

Tomoyo Kurosawa’s Comment
Finally, the reveal is here. I generally do as I like during work, but when I calm down, I remember the pressure to live up to my amazing predecessor, the great Tominaga-san, and go weak in the knees. I will keep taking this role seriously and treat it with care. Thank you so much for your continued support!

Katsuya Kimura (CV. Ryota Iwasaki)
A student in Class 5-3 at Domori Elementary School. He is relatively mature for his age. Having taken care of his younger sister since childhood, he is very fond of her. However, this strong affection sometimes leads him to act impulsively and get in trouble.

• Least favorite subjects: Almost everything else

Ryota Iwasaki’s Comment
I have loved Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube since I was a child! Also, I didn’t even in my wildest dreams think I would get to play Katsuya Kimura! Everyone working on set, from the staff to the cast, is a big fan of the original work, so I’m happy we can share our Nube Love and Nube Passion with all of you! I hope you’re looking forward to this all-new Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube!

Makoto Kurita (CV. Shiho Kokido)
A student in Class 5-3 at Domori Elementary School. He is one of the smaller students in the class. Though shy and easily frightened, he is honest and kind-hearted. He loves Sentai series and small animals.

Shiho Kokido’s Comment
When I was a kid, whenever my father had Nube on the TV, I would sneak over to watch behind my parents’ back. Every time, my mother would say, “You’ll be too scared to sleep!” to which I always said, “I’m fine, I’m fine!” Being able to be a part of a series as belvoed as Nube is like a dream. Maybe even the work of a yokai? I hope this modern version of Nube also becomes a memorable work that captures everyone's hearts.

Ritsuko Takahashi (CV. Aya Endo)
The homeroom teacher of Class 5-2 at Domori Elementary School. Elegant and bright, she is the most popular figure in the school and has a strong sense of responsibility as a teacher. However, she is extremely scared of stories about ghosts and Yokai, and often screams at Nube’s terrifying tales.

Aya Endo’s Comment
I had so much fun recording alongside my fellow castmates who had also once wanted to be one of Nube’s students. Of course I was one of those kids too, but I didn’t even dream that someday I would be Nueno-sensei’s coworker. Like the character I play, Ritsuko Takahashi, I’m also not great with ghosts. I hope you all love the kind-hearted, hard-working Ritsuko-sensei!

Yukime (CV. Ai Kakuma)
A mysterious girl who claims to be Nube’s fiancée. It seems that her true identity is that of a certain Yokai...?

I have memories from elementary school when my classmates and I would “play Nube” by spreading our hands to see who could make the best demon’s hand. To think I would get to meet Nueno-sensei someday as that Yukime-chan, it’s a total shock! I hope everyone enjoys this all-new Nube!

Kyosuke Tamamo (CV. Toshiyuki Morikawa)
A handsome young man living in Domori Town. His true identity is that of a being lurking in the human world to cause misfortune?

I am so happy to be able to reprise the role of Nueno-sensei’s arch-rival and old enemy Tamamo. I’ve already been practicing my lines as the fox demon himself (laugh). Everyone, please wait a little longer, and adios!
