2026 will start with an anime bang, as the 2025 anime film adaptation of the time-travel novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka and directed by Kenichiro Akimoto will hit UK cinemas in January thanks to GKIDS.

Previously adapted into live action as the rather excellent Edge of Tomorrow (Live, Die, Repeat) starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, the anime adaptation has been undertaken by STUDIO4°C (Princess Arete, Berserk The Golden Age Arc).

No exact date has been provided for the UK yet, but keep an eye open and enjoy the trailer in the meanwhile:

Synopsis:
After an unidentified plant organism from outer space invades the Earth, ‘Rita’ finds herself trapped in a ‘time loop’, forced to relive the same day over and over again.

Her memories and experiences sharpen her skills, turning her into a formidable warrior. Yet, the endless cycle of death and solitude begins to wear her down...
