Funimation Entertainment announce winter 2017 simuldub plans

Thanks to their partnership with Crunchyroll, we can expect to see more streaming series than ever receive a so-called "simuldub" treatment from Funimation Entertainment, with English dubbed episodes of new anime arriving around two to four weeks after their Japanese language simulcast. In fact, for this season we'll even be seeing that gap closed further, with plans afoot to simuldub Akiba's Trip the Animation just thirty minutes after an episode airs in Japan.

The distributor has now announced which titles they plan to run through the simuldub process over the course of the winter season - unfortunately there's no UK-specific version of this announcement currently so we can't be sure of any possible region restrictions, but here's whats on the cards for the coming months:

Starts Thursday, 5th January - episodes air weekly at 2PM

Tales of Zestiria the X
Starts Monday, 23rd January - episodes air weekly at 4AM

Hand Shakers
Starts Tuesday, 24th January - episodes air weekly at 3AM

Saga of Tanya the Evil
Starts Tuesday, 24th January - episodes air weekly at 4AM

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid
Starts Thursday, 2nd February - episodes air weekly at 4AM

Masamune-kun’s Revenge
Starts Tuesday, 7th February - episodes air weekly at 3:30AM
