Arc System works has announced that their long-running fighting game franchise Guilty Gear has an anime in the works for 2025. Given the anime-style nature of the game, with its impressive cut scenes, gorgeous in-game graphics and kinetic style, it seems almost odd that its taken this long.
Announced prior to Anime Expo, with the trailer making its international debut on July 4th, the series full title is Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers will star Issei Miyazaki as Sin Kiske, Jouji Nakata as Sol Badguy, and Yui Ishikawa as a brand new character, Gear hunter Unika.
Original character designer Daisuke Ishiwatari is thrilled with the adaptation:
An anime... It's like a dream!
Finally, at long last, Guilty Gear will get an anime adaptation.
I'd like to express my deep gratitude to all of the team members who worked on this amazing project. Their talents, passion and hard work have breathed new life into the world of Guilty Gear,.
Even I don't really know how the characters and setting of Guilty Gear will play out in animation, so I'm truly looking forward to it.
I'm going to enjoy it together with all of you, and hopefully there should be new discoveries and surprises even for fans of the games!
As huge fans of the games and the studio, we're also looking forward to seeing the end result. There's a retro feel to the animation style, take a look at the trailer and see what you think!
