Crunchyroll drop Guildy Gear Strive: Dual Rulers trailer

Bringing the fighting pedigree into full blown animation at last!

Written by Ross Locksley on 21 Mar 2025

Coming in "Spring 2025", the anime adaptation of the Arc System Works fighting classic Guilty Gear has received a new trailer courtesy of Crunchyroll.

The game series, which made its debut in 1998 thanks to the talents of Daisuke Ishiwatari (who we had the pleasure of meeting and gifting a signed Queen album to - if you want to see a happy man, give a Queen fan a signed vinyl, he literally lapped the office!) Since then the series has been continuously developed and is a staple of major fighting game tournaments.

Synopsis:
Sin Kiske, the forbidden child of a human and a magically crafted biological weapon called a Gear, lives in a world where magic has replaced science, and scars from the Gear rebellion remain. Attending his parents’ taboo-breaking wedding, he encounters a mysterious girl with deep hatred for Gears, and their fateful meeting threatens to upend the world once again.

Trailer:

as an aside, you can see that Daisuke Ishiwatari still has the album we gave him all those years ago, he brought it along to a fighting game roundtable :)
