Clear pictures of Transformers x Macross Basara Prime

The official Transformers PR account on X has posted a clear photo of the upcoming Tomy figure that mixes Macross 7 with Transformers, Basara Prime, mixing Basara Nekki's iconic red YF-19 Valkyrie with Autobot leader Optimus Prime.

Basara Prime

It's a good mix of the elements, with the head being unmistakably Prime-ish, with the chest window boxes and leg vents the character is known for. Equally the rear head fin, mecha guitar and folded wings are all telltale Valkyrie parts, and it looks to be a smooth fusion of the two.

Price and release date are as yet unknown, but this could be a nice standalone piece for fans of either franchise.

Transformers site TFW2005 has an exhaustive report on the event along with photos of other upcoming goodies like the Missing Link Arcee figure, created in the style of the original prototype figure that never saw release.
