Clear River Games announce new Lunar remaster

Written by Ross Locksley on 16 Jan 2025

The Lunar Remastered Collection is coming to the Nintendo Switch on 18th of April, and those of us in the EU will be able to pick up digital and physical editions courtesy of Clear River Games.

While the series has its roots in the Sega CD platform, this collection will be using the Playstation releases as a base - Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete. The games have received some quality of life improvements, such as a speed up function to move things along, new battle strategy settings to streamline combat and the ability to switch between classic and remastered graphic modes.

What makes the collection even cooler is that this marks the first time Lunar 2: Eternal Blue will be officially playable in Europe.

Having last enjoyed Lunar on the PSP, it's great to see the game revived once more for a new generation.

Toshiyuki Kubooka has provided two new illustrations for the collection which will be reversable covers for the physical release too!
