In the wake of Funimation's acquisitions of both Crunchyroll and Manga Entertainment, it was inevitable that many in the industry would be moving on. Anime Ltd have announced that the award-winning Miles Thomas, formerly of Crunchyroll, has taken the role of Chief Marketing officer within the company.
"At a time of unprecedented media consolidation, there’s a greater need than ever for prestige brands with specialized expertise that deliver unparalleled quality to consumers." says Thomas.
Moving from a company valued at $1.2 billion to a small Scottish firm that was recently in the news for a publically-backed 6 figure Covid Bail Out loan is sure to have it's challenges, but it seems that the company's sights are firmly focussed on the global market in order to attract licenses to it's boutique anime and music brands.
Kerry Kasim has been promoted to the role of General Manager, and Jessica Poce has been appointed Chief Operating Officer.
It will be interesting to see what difference these management changes can make to the company going forward. We wish Miles the best in his new role.
