Com-ick...

When Amazon purchased Comixology in 2014, it was only a matter of time before it would be merged with their existing Kindle system.
The results, however, leave much to be desired.
The new app cannot display double page spreads correctly. They have removed creator credits from the storefront book listings. Panel by panel and zoom functions are now absent on PC.
In short, the key functionality of the service has been stripped out, making the reading experience far, far worse than it was before.
If you live outside the US, your subscriptions are also permanently cancelled.
Most criminally of all, the entire Comixology website has now ceased to exist, replaced with an Amazon interface that, in mobile view at least, doesn't even show the prices of the books in list view.
One of the biggest concerns over digital content is precisely this level of vandalism to existing content. Whether it's censoring films and television to meet "modern standards" or, as now, rendering a product that previously worked practically useless.
The Comixology App will automatically sign you out and delete all of your downloaded comics even, if you don't update the app, and attempting to load your purchases from the cloud will result in a Comixology logo and no further interface.
So if, like me, you had gigabytes of downloaded books, you're going to have to download your entire catalogue from scratch.
Bookwalker suddenly looks very attractive.
