In a world of subscription boxes promising cool gaming and movie gear, it's refreshing to see something different hit the market. Super Cute Box is a similar subscription service, operated from within the UK and costs:
Now the key to these boxes isn't just how much value for money you're getting, though that's always my first bar, but really it's how well these boxes are put together. You're completely reliant on someone else's taste for your items, and therefore a level of trust has to develop before most of us will subscribe.
So how did I feel about Super Cute Box?
Well firstly, the box is fairly slim. We're talking small, cute items here and not those awful vinyl pop figures that seem to be everywhere and require massive boxes. The contents are tastefully wrapped in paper, and even though I'm a grown man, there were items in here that even I thought were awesome :)
You may have spotted from the picture above that the box has a Gudetama! The miserable egg made designed by Sanrio (Hello Kitty). I actually regretted not picking up a melancholic egg on my last trip, and now I have a keychain of my very own. Huge win there for the Super Cute Box!
Though I'm well aware I'm not the target market for the SCB, I do know some girls who will be fighting over the contents of the box. In particular the donut socks by UeeCom have already been claimed, and the little paper kitty house will make a dandy sticking filler for another friend of mine.
Paper-based goods are well covered here, with 2 cards by Betti Confetti, an envelope set by Ninge, a cute photo by Photobox, and finally a teddy-bear notebook filled with 4 different note designs. Enough to keep most enthusiasts of cute stationary busy for a while.
Finally, a trio of items rounds out the package. There's a rubber Hello Kitty clip, a Sentimental Circus key cover and finally a very delicate looking deer pendant.
Overall, I found the box very entertaining to delve into, and the quality of the items included makes me comfortable with the price. As I said earlier, what makes or breaks one of these boxes is how they gel as a package. There's no overall theme to the box, other than being super cute of course, but there's some nice items here and the company clearly knows their market.
I'd certainly recommend the Super Cute Box for fans of small, cute items. The contents have been picked with care and even I found something to love (no-one shall take my gudetama!). If you like what you've seen here, head on over to supercutebox.com and sign up - if you take out a subscription you'll even get a bonus charm bracelet, with a new charm every month - kawaii 0.0
Many thanks to Super Cute Box for providing a sample box for this article
