The UK Anime Net is one of the UK's oldest online anime and manga magazines. Started in 1996 as UK-Anime.nu, we've seen more than our fair share of epic rises, catastropic failures, controversy and fantastic conventions.
UKA (our common abbreviation) attracts an average of over 500,000 unique readers a month, and over 2 million page views.
Founded on the principle that fan-written content can not only compete with industry publications but actually surpass them, UKA takes great care to bring a fun, professional approach to everything it does.
Site founder Ross Liversidge has written articles on anime and manga for Buena Vista and Sony, and makes occasional public appearances hosting panels at conventions and events around the country. Most of the time he is busy running his online marketing design & consultancy firm, Etharius Ltd, which counts among its clients prolific anime distributor MVM Entertainment.
Our contributors have changed over the years, but have included professional writers who have gone on to achieve major success as journalists, including Gemma Cox, editor of NEO magazine and Andy Hanley, now Marketing Manager at Anime Ltd.
We work with many of the top distributors in the UK to bring you insider news, exclusive interviews and the best competition prizes we can muster.
The website has changed its appearance many times over the years, but the key commitments are the same as always: a high standard of writing, independent views and intelligent commentary. Our efforts have seen us listed in the AA Guide to Japan and linked to frequently by BBC online.
