Vertical license NisiOisin's Kubikiri Cycle novel

Written by A. H. on 03 Oct 2016

Having enjoyed some considerable success with their release of his Kizumonogatari novel, and with more novels within the Monogatari franchise on the way, it seems that publisher Vertical Inc. have been keenly beavering away to snap up another work by author NisiOisin.

Thus, last weekend saw the publisher's panel at Anime Weekend Atlanta reveal that they have picked up the first novel in said author's Zaregoto series, Kubikiri Cycle. This novel, as well as the second volume in the series, were both previously released in English by the now defunct Del Ray.

The novel is set for a release by Vertical in early 2017, and its story is described thus:

It's the vacation of a lifetime, a trip to a remote island filled with geniuses–and murder.

On Wet Crow's Feather Island, a tiny speck in the Sea of Japan, lives Akagami Iria, the exiled daughter of a powerful family. Born into great wealth, she was a princess of the highest pedigree–until she was cut off by the leader of the Akagami Foundation. For the last five years, she's lived on Feather Island with her maids. But she hasn't been alone. She has invited the best minds Japan has to offer to come and stay with her.

Will you be picking up this book? Do you already own a copy of Del Ray's release perhaps? Let us know in the comments!
