It seems Third Window Films have been busy, very busy, beavering away behind closed doors - clearly marked 'Private' - they have been plotting the resurrection (or should that be reserection?) of one of Osamu Tezuka's (of Astro Boy fame) more risqué films.
Announcing via social media that they are bringing Cleopatra: Queen of Sex to the UK. The film is part of the "very much forgotten and totally bizarre" Animerama trilogy. If the name isn't a big enough clue about the kind of thing to expect from the film, it's part of the same trilogy as the now (in)famous Belladonna of Sadness.
The film will first hit our shores via a UK premiere at October's London East Asia Film Festival, before further unspecified UK cinema outings and a bluray release in Spring 2018. It should be quite an interesting viewing experience, especially given the film is being shown with its new 2K restored DCP.
