Our review of the home video release of The Eccentric Family saw it earn a coveted award indeed - a full 10/10 score - and with that in mind we're more than a little happy to hear news that this wonderful series is getting a sequel.
During an event at the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair, animation studio P.A. Works announced that they will be producing The Eccentric Family 2, which will be based on the second novel just as the original series adapted the first.
It's also been confirmed that the show's main cast and production staff will be reuniting for this second season as it returns us to its unique take on Kyoto where humans and tanuki mingle with occasionally fractious results.
The first season of The Eccentric Family is sadly no longer available in streaming form, having recently expired from Crunchyroll's service, but the show is available on Collector's Edition Blu-ray and Standard Edition DVD from MVM Entertainment.
