This weekend's Manchester MCM Comic Con brought with it the now-traditional panel appearance from distributor Manga Entertainment - so what did they have to talk about this Saturday?
After confirmation of Ghost in the Shell's Steelbook relase, it's now been confirmed that the first two parts of Ghost in the Shell: Arise will be released as a two-disc DVD and Blu-Ray release on November 24th. There's no news on audio options for this release at present, in light of rumours that FUNimation Entertainment's edition of this release will contain only an English dub and no Japanese audio. (EDIT: These rumours have now been rescinded, and FUNimation's release will indeed contain both English and Japanese audio)
Also coming on November 24th is Bayonetta: Bloody Fate - this movie based on the vide game franchise will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray. The contract to distribute the film in the UK was only signed yesterday!
Another new announcement is that following its streaming run on Netflix from August 1st, the Harlock movie will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray by Manga Entertainment early next year.
Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods has also been licensed by the company for a DVD and Blu-Ray release on December 10th. The film will also enjoy a handful of theatrical screenings, including an appearance at this year's Scotland Loves Anime.
As previously hinted, Manga Entertainment will also be releasing the live-action Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist web series - the series will be released (as a single film rather than episodic as per its web broadcast) on DVD, Blu-Ray and Steelbook editions on October 27th.
As previously reported, Attack on Titan's first and second parts will be released on September 15th and October 27th respectively. There are no plans for a future complete series box set at this point in time.
Are you excited about any of these announcements? Let us know in the comments!
