The anime was released in Japan as an OVA episodes available to those who had purchased the entire series of Diamond is Unbreakable. Adopting a horror theme, the series supposedly takes inspiration from Twin Peaks and The Twilight Zone, with director Toshiyuki Kato deliberately selecting a different colour palette to the Jojo's series in order to create a sense of familiarity and unease.
