Yes, it's that time of year again. The Japan Touring Film Programme have announced provisional dates and full content for their annual showcasing of Japanese cinema, including a theatrical anime movie screening in the form of Colorful (which we reviewed courtesy of a Scotland Loves Anime screening here).
This year's theme is 'youth' and they've certainly selected a wide variety of depictions of young people on screen from a '60s Seishun Eiga to the more immediate problems teenagers face on screen in the films of today.
The full line up includes:
- Your Friends
- The Story of Yonosuke
- The Drudgery Train
- Sorry
- Shindo (Wonder Child)
- Parade
- Otakus in Love
- Love Strikes!
- Colorful
- Capturing Dad
- 18 Who Cause a Storm
The Programme will run from 31st January - 27th March 2014 and will call at Bristol, Belfast, Dundee, Edinburgh, London, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Nottingham and Sheffield. Exact dates and ticket information have not yet been announced but for all the up to date information please visit the festival's official website where you'll find more information on all the films and festival venues.
