Godzilla Minus One epands UK cinema run due to demand

Written by Ross Locksley on 14 Dec 2023

Already a smash hit in Japan and the US, Godzilla Minus One will hit cinemas tomorrow, Friday 15th. However due to the monstrous success (the highest grossing Japanese film in the US on a limited release no less) the film will now be shown on 400 screens across the UK, including IMAX, 4D X, Dolby and Screen X presentations.

Set in the aftermath of World War II, the story of how survivors band together to face a common enemy has won the hearts of not only Toho monster fans, but the wider public as well.

Reportedly made on a tiny budget of only $15 million, it may yet prove to be one of the most profitable films of 2023, eclipsing the failures of other event movie houses such as Disney/Marvel and Warner Bros. who both lost money on their key franchises this year.

Our own Dan Barnett will be covering the film when it releases tomorrow.
