East Asia Television announce first programming details

Written by A. H. on 09 Dec 2013

We're still some way off UK TV channel East Asia Television's purported launch, but this morning the service has provided a press release giving an update on their current timetable building up to the launch, as well as providing an early look at the basic structure of their planned programming schedule.

Here's the press release for your perusal:

Date: Monday December 9th 2013

East Asia Television is now officially a few months away and so it’s time we give a few bits away about East Asia TV.

What is East Asia Television?

If you’ve visited the website you should have a vague understanding of the channel, but here we’ll go into the operations behind the channel.

In recent years the UK has seen a vast importation of East Asian Media, through Animé Films to Global Internet Fandoms. But though we are a niche channel we are not niche in content.

From launch night at 7pm we will show the best in Japanese Animation as this is the most known content here in the UK, but as the animé series finish new structured programming will begin.

Early Mornings is set for child based programming (Inc. kids animé old and new)
Late Morning* will contain drama, features, technology and review shows along with day edits of programming.
Afternoons will contain a variety of programming, such as imported chat shows and further Late Morning* content.
Evening will feature our most prestigious series (exclusives/live concerts/simulcasts) as well as evening edit programming.
Night & Late Night will be the place to catch up on full unedited versions of programmes shown in the day as well as some series that is aimed at a more mature audience (but are just as good).

SIMULCASTS ARE SUBJECT TO DATE AND TIME AGREED WITH ORIGINAL BROADCASTERS

Animé will be included throughout the day but will not fill the schedules 24/7 leading into 2015.

The above schedule is correct as of December 2013 but is still subject to change.

What’s next for East Asia Television?

For each month leading up to the channel launch EATV will produce a monthly or bi-monthly (where applicable) press release for the public to read about.

Also starting March 2014 EATV will be working nationwide with conventions to promote the channel. Appearances will include:
- Exclusive Promotional Trailers of Series to be Shown
- Q & A sessions to the board at EATV
- Promotional Merchandising

Finally.

Aside the update press releases (bi)-monthly, East Asia Television will be doing a “Launch Announcement” in late Spring.

This will be the one the public is waiting for as it’ll include our complete Schedule, Launch Date and most importantly… EPG Number.

A personal thank you to everyone who has written or followed our Pre-Launch, now EATV enters stage two.

You can find out more at the East Asia TV web site.  Do you have any thoughts about the channel or its plans as they stand?  Let us know in the comments!
