Digital Manga Inc. have launches numerous crowd-funded Kickstarter projects relating to the works of Osamu Tezuka over recent years - something that we haven't always been particularly enamoured by.
This week has seen the publisher launch another Kickstarter campaign, this time revisiting their attempt to release Wonder 3 in an English language omnibus edition after the company's previous attempt to fund the release failed to meet its goal.
This time around, the company are looking to sweeten the deal by making other previously released Tezuka titles available again as funding tiers (rather than stretch goals as per previous projects) - titles available as part of this consist of The Thief Inoue Akikazu, Yakeppachi's Maria, Dust 8, The Euphrates Tree, Say Hello to Bookila!, Metamorphose and Ambassador Magma.
The campaign seeks to raise US $39,000 by Wednesday, 26th April, and has already raised $26,000 at the time of writing.
Digital Manga Inc. describes Wonder 3 as follows:
Wonder 3 takes place in an alternate Earth in the year 196X and the world is overrun with war and violence. The Galactic Federation consisting of all the advanced species of the universe convene to decide the future of Earth, but due to a lack of information they decide to send an elite team, Wonder 3, to observe human species for one year and determine whether or not humans are worthy of saving. Upon landing on Earth, the three members of Wonder 3 – Bokko, Nokko, and Pukko – disguise themselves as animals and come across the two Hoshi brothers who defend humanity in their own way. With a time limit of one year, what can Wonder 3 learn from the Hoshi brothers about life on Earth?
You can find all of the details of this campaign on the Kickstarter web page for the project.
