Crunchyroll app launches on PlayStation platforms for the UK

Crunchyroll app launches on PlayStation platforms for the UK

Written by A. H. on 29 Aug 2015

It's been a frustrating couple of years or so for anime fans based in the UK who have wanted to watch the latest simulcasts on their Sony consoles - thanks to an exclusivity deal with Sony-owned, Animax UK, we've been locked out of the opportunity to download and use streaming service Crunchyroll's app for those platforms, leaving users having to fudge around with US PlayStation Network accounts to gain access to the app in question.

Happily, all of that changed yesterday with Sony themselves confirming that the Crunchyroll app for PlayStation is now available internationally across a number of additional countries, including the UK.

You can read all of the details about this change over on the PlayStation Blog, while the app itself is available for the PlayStation 3PlayStation 4 and PS Vita from the PlayStation Store.
