Anime Limited confirm Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam Blu-ray release

Written by A. H. on 29 Apr 2016

Thanks to the agreement between Japanese studio Sunrise and UK distributor Anime Limited, we're being flooded with all things Mobile Suit Gundam these days.

Having brought the original Mobile Suit Gundam to Blu-ray last year, and with Turn A Gundam on hold while the possibility of a Blu-ray edition of the series is investigated, it's time for Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam to step up to the plate as the next UK release in the franchise.

Thus part one of the series, containing the first 25 episodes, will be coming to the UK on as a Blu-ray conly release on 29th August 2016. This Limited Edition release comprising 1,000 units will ship with an art box within which to store the entire series, while all episodes will be provided with both English and Japanese audio with English subtitles.

Here's the series synopsis for those unaware of its story:

The Earth Federation stands victorious, but are they still on the right side?

In Zeta Gundam, we see the future world of the Universal Century through a dark mirror. Having defeated the Zeon menace, the Earth Federation has itself become cruel and oppressive. A new generation of Gundam mobile suits is created not to fight for peace, but to punish the enemies of the state, and yesterday’s villains must become today’s heroes in order to balance the scales of justice. When a young civilian named Kamille Bidan is caught up in the rebellion, he little suspects the price he will pay in the fight for freedom.
