A Silent Voice UK Home Video Release Detailed

Written by D. R. on 26 Sep 2017

Fans have been pleading for it since the cinematic release in March, and now - finally - Anime Limited have detailed what to expect from their physical release of the phenomenal film A Silent Voice (aka Koe no Katachi). Along with this they have also confirmed the English dub cast.

For those not already smitten with the film, Anime Limited's synopsis is as follows: “Shoya Ishida starts bullying the new girl in class, Shoko Nishimiya, because she is deaf. But as the teasing continues, the rest of the class starts to turn on Shoya for his lack of compassion. When they leave elementary school, Shoko and Shoya do not speak to each other again… until an older, wiser Shoya, tormented by his past behaviour, decides he must see Shoko once more. He wants to atone for his sins, but is it already too late…?”. There's also a trailer, produced for the films theatrical release:

English Dub Cast

Anime Limited are quite excited about the new English dub, produced by NYAV Post (Your Name, Napping Princess, A Letter To Momo). Which wil open the door to many fans who couldn’t, or weren’t able to, experience the film previously - due it only being available in Japanese with subtitles.

The cast includes the likes of Robbie Daymond (One Punch Man, Your Lie in April), Kira Buckland (Pokemon Generations, Sailor Moon), and Michael Sinterniklaas (Patema Inverted, Time of EVE). For the full run down take a look at the full Anime Limited announcement. They've even released a clip of the new dub to whet your appetite:

Anime Limited also promise there there are more teasers to come, so keep your eyes open for those. As if that weren't enough dub news, they also let slip that the Dub's World Premiere will be taking place in Edinburgh on Tuesday 17th October, at the Filmhouse cinema as part of the Scotland Loves Anime Film Festival.
