As part of Hyper Japan's collaboration with Evangelion's 30th anniversary, Mahiro Maeda will be onstage on July 19th to give a special talk and live drawing session with longtime UK anime authority and author Helen McCarthy. This is a rare opportunity for fans to enjoy an insider's perspective of the anime industry.

Mada has worked on Evangelion in all of it's iterations - as a design assistant on the original TV series, providing design and key animation for Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance before taking full control for the subsequent Evangelion 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo and Evangelion 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time as director, storyboard artist, concept art director and key animatior!

It doesn't end with Evangelion either, with Maeda working on many animated projects including office favourite Gunbuster, The Animatrix, and currently Mobile Suit Gundam Gquuuuuux. He also worked as a concept designer on Mad Max: Fury Road.  He also has a new artbook, Thats (1963 - 2024) showcasing his immense talent across his impressive career.
