I quite like Gundam but I do seem to recall that the original series has aged worse visually than almost anything I've seen - it looks terrible so doubt I'll pick that up. Hopefully turn a will be better though I'll have to have a nosey before considering buying it. Origins intrigues me though. (Although frankly after the seeing the utter disaster that is recognista in G I'm happy to watch any other Gundam....)

It's about time Turn A got a release. Crossing my fingers and hoping After War X gets a release too.

    That's great news!

I hope ZZ Gundam will be released some time too.

That's another Gundam series that's never been released in the US either.

I wonder if anyone over here would be willing to gamble on a Licence deal for some more Gundam.

I noticed UP1 are trailing the Australian Madman release of UC0079 & 0080 in their Upcoming Releases list as well, wonder if MVM could be talked into something.

There's a lot of gaps...I wish someone would pick up the ones that haven't had any releases, like ZZ...

Good to see Turn A though.

Well this is excellent news. I loved Turn A Gundam and was bitterly disappointed when the planned US release was canceled. Well chuffed!

Excellent to hear that ZZ is on the way, two new-to-DVD Gundam releases...the only downside is that they sound like they could be Rightstuf exclusives...?

Wake me up when they're doing remastered Blu-ray releases.

You'd rather not see stuff at all if it;s not BluRay remastered? Oh well.

    In the meanwhile, Toonzone reports:

It is clear that this is just the beginning of the new plans for Gundam. Mr. Ozaki remarked that the studio hoped to release other Gundam animation with Right Stuf as well, and acknowledged titles not yet released on home video in English. “As we are very well aware,” Mr. Ozaki said, not all Gundam series have been released in North America, so we are hoping to bring some of those never before released series to you as well.”

I've read a couple of comment son other boards that RightStuff/Sunrise have pretty much picked up the entire Gundam franchise, with the possible exception of one (I think it was Gundam Savior)

I'm very happy about this, so long as they don't release generation 3 of Gundam AGE...

More news sites are talking about Sunrise acquiring the Gundam frnachise and indicating that they have, indeed, picked up the rights to all of it. Specifically mentioning "who is excited to be able to pick up all 25 of the series and own them in order?"

Yep, pretty much. For the series being re-released, I already own them on DVD. For the ones newly released, I'm not prepared to pick them up on an inferior/dead format. Conversely, if they were to re-release the series I already own on Blu-ray, at a fair price, I'd happily double-dip.
