So, Capaldi is leaving, we know that, but the latest strong rumour is that Kris Marshall (My Family, Sold, Death in Paradise) has been selected to replace Capaldi, and the internet is in meltdown with rage. Personally I think he's a good fit - boyish, good grin, can play eccentric/daft and thanks to Sold (a series I don't think anyone actually saw) he can also do excellent drama. Anyone on here gone postal over the news, or is it all a bit "meh" so far as Who is concerned these days? Have to say, I wasn't a fan of the last series but "Pilot" that aired on Saturday was actually very good...
Very much meh. I went 100% off doctor who after they brought in capaldi (the best doctor since Sylvester mcoy) and then dumped him into the most utterly garbage drivel imaginable over the course of his first season. After that the show was pretty unredeemable in my opinion. Maybe the new head writer will fix things after moffat leaves but i doubt he'll have the stones to stand up to the BBC and address the core issues.
I agree that Capaldi was very badly served in his first season. I do think you might enjoy the latest episode - I didn't watch the entirety of the last 2 seasons but from what I've seen this was a pretty big improvement. Time will tell
I'll be honest, I still love Doctor Who but tbh I have been a bit meh about every new doctor announced. I think it takes me seeing them in the role to really decide whether they are good or not and I don't understand people melting down before even giving people a chance.
I think he'll be good. I did try to stick with the Capaldi seasons but nope, couldn't. I hope they get Marshall a good companion. The Capaldi companions, from the outside looking in look utter sh*t. I'll definitely attempt to slide back into the universe like peoples DM's on my social media lmao if Marshall if the new Doc.
I think he a good actor and would be a good Doctor. However like all before him, we would have to wait until he's on the tv playing him before we would see if he is good. However we won't know if it is him until the bbc show about who the new Doctor is.
