Well, like EVERY convention, this lands on a Saturday I'm working, so that's always a good start. Seems like all these cons are set so they are always on a "Week A" work-wise for me

I might chance it and risk not getting the time off work.

    B'ham Comic Con - 21st Nov = Working
London Comic Con - 24th Oct = Working
    AmeCon 2016 - 30th July = Working

Registered, but not actually sure if I'll be able to go yet. Not really much option with these things, alas.

Also, if you are reading this and haven't registered yet... too late!

I didn't even try. Ah well. We have the far superior UKAstock to look forward to! There'll be Blackjack (the series) and Hookers (in Gangsta). Perhaps people will cosplay for us if we use the bribe of hiding Carl's Miku suit.....

One thing this kind of surge does show is that the UK needs a second big con (possibly even at or around the same time to prevent all the places being taken by the same people) to catch the overflow as there clearly is a demand for it that the other smaller cons aren't filling.

Lots of cons crop up, but die so quickly.

    Clearly, we are doomed

If it's anything like Amechibi they'll get quite a long way into the waiting list... Seems us anime nerds aren't so good at ponying up th ,

So worth putting your name down if you are interested.

Yeah, I expect quite a few folks will end up not paying, and, honestly, there's always the likelyhood that they'll suddenly "find" a couple hundred more spots. May well be worth jumping on the wait list.

Problem with the wait list at that location is the accomadation tbh. The onsite acomodation tends to go fast and whilst I've been there and stayed offsite before its an utter and total pain to get too and from the site as Warrick Campus is a fair way outside the town centre (good 10-15 min drive)

It is a bit of an arse if you don't pay the extortionate prices for on-site accommodation. Not a problem, don't mind paying for it for a good event.

Also, where the hell is the registration link?

I can't even sign up to the waiting list now, so I assume that's also full!

Their Twitter was claiming the wait list was reopened an hour-ish ago, whether that's still the case, I do not know.

Looks like they're starting to churn into the waiting list now...

    Who's in?

I'm not I'm afraid. Never bothered with the waiting list as I just can't be bothered mucking around with the accommodation issue given that the onsite will likley be well and truly gone by now.

There were some single rooms left accommodation wise last I heard, but I imagine I'm sufficiently far down the waiting list that it'll be a no-go for me.
