The weekend just gone saw one of the big US anime conventions take place in the form of Anime Central in Illinois, and foremost amongst those with much to announce at the show was manga and novel publisher Vertical, who regaled the crowd at their panel with a number of new titles.
Here's what they announced at the show:
- Both Nekomonogatari Black and Nekomonogatari White have been acquired, to add to the company's slate of Monogatari franchise novels - these are currently set for November 2017 and January 2018 releases respectively.
- Your Lie in April prequel light novel, titled Your Lie in April - Six People's Etude which tells side stories of a number of characters prior to the events of the series proper, has been acquired for release in late July 2017.
- Having already enjoyed a successful release, Shuzo Oshimi's Flowers of Evil will be getting a new-look omnibus edition release across four three-in-one volumes, each of which will ship with new cover artwork. The first omnibus volume is expected to be released in October 2017.
- Manga adaptation of Makoto Shinkai's She and her Cat is slated for an August 2017 release.
- Light novel featuring artwork by CLAMP Anime Supremacy has been set for a hardcover release in September 2017.
- Nichijou author Keiichi Arawi's Helvetica Standard will be released in October 2017.
- Arakawa Under the Bridge - a series from Saint Young Men's Hikaru Nakamura which was adapted into an anime by SHAFT - will be released as 2-in-1 omnibus volumes starting from November 2017.
- The re-release of the manga adaptation of Voices of a Distant Star is now set for arrival in early 2018.
