The latest in the series of teaser screenings intent on whetting your appetite for the London Korean Film Festival later this year has just been announced and it's a big one. Han Jae-rim's The King features two of Korea's biggest stars - Cho In-sung and Jung Woo-sung and takes a timely look at judicial corruption in the wake of the country's recent political scandals.
Set in the turbulent 80s and 90s which saw Korea emerge from a lengthy period of military dicatorship, The King charts the career of a young and ambitious prosecutor who lusts after power and glory as an antidote to his poverty-stricken upbringing. Falling in with a crowd of elite prosecutors he finds the world he's always dreamed of but also begins to see its cruelty.
The King is screened at Picturehouse Central in Central London on 12th June 2017 at 6.30pm and tickets are already on sale directly from the cinema website.
You can keep up with all the latest LKFF news as well as information about the regular free screenings held at the Korean Cultural Centre in Central London via the festival's official website, Twitter account, Facebook page and Instagram channel.
