English language manga publisher Seven Seas Entertainment has plenty of announcements stacked up and waiting to unleash upon the world over the next couple of weeks, so expect a lot more of these moving forward - first things first though, as yesterday saw the first such announcement come our way.
The manga unveiled on this occasion is Lord Marksman and Vanadis, the light novel source material of which is also seeing its anime adaptation released in the UK in 2016 by Anime Limited. We can expect to see the first volume of the series arrive on September 13th 2016 (in North America, at least) - here's the full press release direct from Seven Seas Entertainment themselves:
Seven Seas Hits the Bullseye with License of Lord Marksman and Vanadis
Seven Seas Entertainment is pleased to announce the acquisition of the epic fantasy manga series, Lord Marksman and Vanadis.
Lord Marksman and Vanadis has received a critically-acclaimed anime adaptation which has been licensed by FUNimation in North America. A sweeping swords-and-sorcery tale of two nations at war, Lord Marksman and Vanadis is the story of a beautiful and deadly warrior who makes a fateful decision to spare one archer’s life.
"If you like archery and epic fantasy with some harem thrown in, you’ll loveLord Marksman and Vanadis," said Seven Seas publisher Jason DeAngelis. "This series is a great fit for the Seven Seas library, alongside such fan favorites as Dragonar Academy, Magika Swordsman and Summoner, and theSacred Blacksmith."
The country of Zhcted is ruled by seven women known as the Vanadis, a group of warriors who are given powerful weapons and dominion over the country’s seven territories. Taking advantage of its neighboring nations’ civil unrest, Zhcted goes to war against the country of Brune. In a battle that decimates Brune’s army, the brave, young Brune nobleman Tigrevurmund Vorn meets the beautiful Eleonara Viltaria—one of the Vanadis.
Impressed with his skill as an archer, Elen allows Tigre to live in exchange for his servitude. But the battle is far from over, and extends further than either of them could have imagined. Tigre and his new mistress become caught in the middle of a plot that threatens not only their homelands, but the entire world.
Seven Seas will publish Lord Marksman and Vanadis for the first time in print in North America as single volumes. Each book will contain multiple color pages and inserts. The first volume will be released on September 13, 2016 for $12.99 USA / $14.99 CAN.
