New Releases - 25th July 2016

Our editor-in-chief is heavy with cold this morning, but there's no time to mope as boy is there a lot of new anime coming our way this week! Mind you, it's significantly less than the 13 releases we were expecting on this date a while back, so for once perhaps we should be thankful for some delays.

Let's begin to a newcomer (well, new-ish) to the scene in the form of Funimation Entertainment UK, who bring us their first release under their own label in the form of Yona of the Dawn - Part 1 as a DVD/Blu-ray combo pack. We've reviewed this release, and you can find our thoughts right here.

Elsewhere, Universal Pictures return to the fray with their second release, as The Heroic Legend of Arslan - Series 1 Part 1 appears in both DVD and Blu-ray Collector's Edition formats. We have a review on the way. We have a full review coming soon, but you can check out the contents in video form for now.

Our other releases this week all come from MVM Entertainment, although their sole all-new release is the Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East Season 1 Collection on DVD and Blu-ray. Our thoughts on this show? You can read them over here.

Meanwhile, Blast of Tempest gets the Complete Series Collection treatment, collecting Part 1 and Part 2 into a single release on DVD. Our thoughts can be found on those links to the indvidual half-season releases.

In manga news, the first volume of volleyball series Haikyu lands this week, with other new releases including volumes of Nisekoi, One-Punch Man and more besides. Check out the full list of new manga below.

Next week sees the delayed second half of Parasyte -the maxim- arrive, while Blue Exorcist gets a new Complete Series Collection and the original Fate/stay Night anime arrives on Blu-ray. Until then, take care!
