Crunchyroll to simulcast My Hero Academia, Monster Strike Season 2 this spring

Written by A. H. on 25 Mar 2017

We reported at the start of the month on FunimationNow's plans to stream the second season of hot spring season series My Hero Academia in the UK - however, if you're not a subscriber to that service then fear not, as both seasons of the show will also be landing on Crunchyroll in subtitled form.

Indeed, you can catch up on all of the first season of My Hero Academia on the service right now, while season two will see its first episode arrive on the same page from Saturday, 1st April, with new episodes arriving weekly.

If you're unfamiliar with the show, Crunchyroll describes it thus:

Izuku has dreamt of being a hero all his life—a lofty goal for anyone, but especially challenging for a kid with no superpowers. That’s right, in a world where eighty percent of the population has some kind of super-powered “quirk,” Izuku was unlucky enough to be born completely normal. But that’s not enough to stop him from enrolling in one of the world’s most prestigious hero academies.

Another title confirmed for UK streaming is Monster Strike 2nd Season, episode 0 of which is available right now on the service. Here's the blurb on the show:

Monsters are just a daily fixture of life these days. Ren, Aoi, Akira, and Minami have taken it upon themselves to clear the neighborhood of violent monsters. Days pass, until a transfer student from America, Mana Livingston, appears in their class. Mana quickly becomes a friend as the gang bond over their monsters.

But a creeping shadow begins to lurk in the darkness, a harbinger of the danger to come. A new chapter of Monster Strike is about to be written!

Alongside this major news, Crunchyroll has also announced some of their other spring season simulcasts, albeit without territory details at this time so we'll have to wait with bated breath for news of UK availabillity. Thus far, the following titles have been confirmed:

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations The Hidden Leaf Village has entered an era of peace and modernity. Tall buildings line the streets, giant screens flash with images, and the Thunder Rail runs through the village, connecting each district together. Though it's still a ninja village, the number of civilians has increased and the life of the shinobi is beginning to change.

Boruto Uzumaki, son of Seventh Hokage Naruto Uzumaki, has enrolled in the Ninja Academy to learn the ways of the ninja. The other students are ready to dismiss him as "just the son of the Hokage,” but Boruto’s heart and character blow all their assumptions away.

As a series of mysterious events begins to unfold, it’s up to Boruto and his new friends to handle them. Like a gale-force wind, Boruto makes his own way into everyone's hearts; his story is about to begin!

KADO: The Right Answer - Koujiro Shindo is a highly-skilled negotiator working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As his plane at Haneda airport prepares to take off, a huge mysterious cube appears from the sky. "It" expands rapidly, and absorbs the passenger plane and its 252 passengers. The cube's name is "Kado".

A strange being called Yaha-kui zaShunina appears from within Kado and tries to make contact with humanity. Shindou, who was been absorbed by Kado, ends up taking on the role of mediator between Yaha-kui zaShunina and humanity. The Japanese government sends its own negoator, Saraka Tsukai. Who is Yaha-kui zaShunina? What does he want?

Love TyrantA beautiful girl named Guri, who has a mysterious item that forces two random people to kiss and turns them into couples, appears in front high school student, Aino Seiji. Despite being dressed up as a shinigami, she's actually cupid. Suddenly, Guri tries to kiss Seiji, and then... Unavoidable and uncontrollable--A forceful love comedy that starts with an angel and a kiss!!

Needless to say, we'll bring you more information on these and other titles as we hear it!
