Crunchyroll line-up more simulcasts for Winter 2018

With HIDIVE dropping the bombshell of their six Winter 2018 steaming announcements, it didn’t take long for Crunchyroll to take up the baton to reveal six more of their own. Including one which, interestingly, overlaps with HIDIVE’s, in the form of Pop Team Epic. The full list of announcements is as follows:

Pop Team Epic

Streaming from January 6th at 17:30 (5:30pm)

Synopsis: There is no darkness but ignorance. -William Shakespeare.


Sanrio Boys

Streaming from January 6th at 15:30 (3:30pm)

Synopsis: Hasegawa Kouta, 17 years old, is a second-year high school student. His days are unremarkable and average when Kouta meets Mizuno Yuu, Yoshino Shunsuke, Nishimiya Ryo, and Minamoto Seiichiro, who are fellow students attending Hijirikawa High School. In an instant, Kouta's average life begins to be awash with sparkling light. A tale of a sparkling youth and his encounter with the Sanrio Boys. Our story begins.


Working Buddies!

Streaming from January 5th at 14:45 (2:45pm)

Synopsis: Calico Tapio Chatorazawa, who's got more energy than anyone, Russian Blue Kuehiko Roshihara's a bit of a sourpuss. These two classmates will do all kinds of different jobs to learn how fun and hard it is to work!


Slow Start

Streaming from January 6th at 16:00 (6:00pm)

Synopsis: Hana Ichinose has enrolled in high school one year late due to studying to get in. It might not seem like a big deal, but it is to her. She’s off to a slow start, but she wants to work hard and catch up to everyone else!


IDOLiSH7

Streaming from January 7th at 15:30 (3:30pm)

Synopsis: A group of aspiring idols gather at Takanashi Productions and are entrusted with the company's future. The seven men who have just met represent a variety of totally different personalities. However, they each have their own charm and possess unknown potential as idols. Forming a group, they take their first step together as "IDOLiSH7." Their brilliantly shining dancing forms onstage eventually begin captivating the hearts of the people. In the glorious but sometimes harsh world of idols, they aim for the top with dreams in their hearts!


KARAKAI JOZU NO TAKAGI-SAN

Streaming from January 8th at 16:30 (4:30pm)

Synopsis: "I swear I'm going to tease and embarrass Takagi-san today!" Nishikata, a middle-schooler, keeps getting teased by the girl who sits next to him in class, Takagi-san. He tries every day to get back at her, but will he ever succeed? Takagi-san and Nishikata's youthful teasing battle starts now!

How to Keep a Mummy

Streaming from January 11th at 20:00 (8:00pm)

Synopsis: Kashiwagi Sora is living a totally normal high school student life, when his self-proclaimed "adventurer" father sends him a mummy from his travels in Egypt! Sora balks at the letter from his crazy dad ("I found a cool mummy, so I decided to leave it with you, son!") at first, but the mummy that emerges from inside the huge coffin in his living room is a mere 12 centimetres tall--small enough to fit in the palm of his hand... Not only that, it's shy, a crybaby, and most of all, heckin' cute. And so, Sora and ends up keeping the mummy, naming his new little buddy "Mii-kun." But living with a mummy might be easier said than done…!

What's more, she later finds out that Mei is her new step-sister, and they'll be living under the same roof! And so the love affair between two polar opposite high school girls who find themselves drawn to one another begins!


Katana Maidens ~ Toji No Miko

Synopsis: Since the ancient times, the Kannagi priestesses have used their swords, or Okatana, to exorcise the creatures known as Aratama that brought chaos upon the world of man. These maidens were known as Tojis, a special task force within the police allowed to have their Okatana on their person because they are government officials, but they mostly consist of school girls who go to one of five training schools. This spring, the top Tojis from five schools across the country have been gathered for a customary tournament where they will use their abilities and fight for the top position.


Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card

Synopsis: Sakura had managed to capture all of the Clow Cards which could bring disaster to the world and turned them into her own Sakura Cards. Now it’s spring. With cherry trees in full blossom, Sakura is just entering middle school. Her beloved Syaoran has returned from Hong Kong, and Sakura was thrilled to be going to school with him again. But one night, something strange happens to her Cards... On top of that, strange things keep happening in Tomoeda. Basilisk: The Ouka Ninja Scrolls

Synopsis: The battle for succession that continued for three generations of shogun in the Keichou era culminated in a gruesome battle of ninja arts between the Kouga and Iga clans. Amidst a rain of flower petals, a man and woman who had decided to live for love were separated once again, beautiful in their transience...


Record of Grancrest War

Streaming from January 5th at 16:30 (4:30pm)

Synopsis: Atlatan, a land ruled by chaos. Fearing disaster brought about by chaos, the people lived protected by “Lords;” those with the power of “Crests,” used to suppress the chaos. However, the Lords decided to abandon the concept of protecting the people and turn against each other, stealing each other’s Crests to gain dominion over one another. Among these people are Siluca, a lone mage who despises the Lords, and Theo, a vagrant knight training to someday liberate his homeland. Enticed by Theo’s ideals, Siluca’s coercive tactics have the two forming a contract and together, reform a war-torn land.


The Ryuo's Work is Never Done!

Synopsis: The protagonist opens his door to find himself face-to- face with a sadist... "I've come to be made your pupil, like you promised!" Kuzuryu Yaichi holds one of the highest titles in the shogi world, "Ryuo", at the age of 16. The girl who has shown up at his front door is Hinatsuru Ai, a nine-year- old in the third grade. "Huh? Pupil? What?" "Don't you remember?" Though he doesn't remember her, the duo's life together thus begins. Eventually, Ai's honest enthusiasm helps Yaichi rediscover the passion he had begun to lose.


School Babysitters

Synopsis: Ryuichi and Kotaro are brothers who lost their parents in an airplane crash. They're taken in by the chairman of Morinomiya Academy, who lost her son and daughter-in-law in the same crash, on one condition: Ryuichi has to babysit the kids at the daycare room in the school! This room was opened to help the school's teachers who had kids to take care of, but it suffers from a lack of staff until Ryuichi becomes the first member of the babysitter club formed to solve that problem.


Mitchiri Neko

Streaming from January 8th at 09:15 (9:15pm)

Synopsis: The cute and mysterious cat-like creatures called Mitchiri Neko that seem to gather around each other if you leave them alone now get their own anime with a glorious voice cast! The free and happy-go- lucky Mitchiri Neko’s daily life is filled fluff and surreal laughs! Say it with me, “Mitchiri! Mitchiri!”


Junji Ito Collection

Streaming from January 5th at 15:30 (3:30pm)

Synopsis: The works of one of the most famous Japanese horror manga artists, Junji Ito, finally gets animated! This will be an omnibus animation where each episode will star different protagonists such as the famous Tomie, Soichi, and Fuchi!


Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles

Streaming from January 6th at 17:30 (5:30pm)

Synopsis: A cool girl who rarely speaks... The mysterious transfer student Koizumi-san doesn’t get along with others very well, but she’s actually a professional when it comes to ramen, who seeks out delicious ramen every day. Now serving up a truly authentic ramen story!


A Place Further Than The Universe

Streaming from January 2nd at 13:30 (1:30pm)

Synopsis: Scenery that we have never seen. Sounds that we have never heard. Scent that we have never smelled. Food that we have never tasted. And the surge of emotion that we have never experienced. This is the expedition of recollecting the pieces torn apart and sensation left alone. When we reach that place, what will we think? Howling, 40 degree angle. Raging, 50 degree angle. Shouting, 60 degree angle. A wilderness beyond the heavy sea. The furthest south, far from civilisation. At the top of the Earth. We will find lights through the girls' eyes to live tomorrow.


Laid-Back Camp

Streaming from January 4th at 15:30 (3:30pm)

Synopsis: Nadeshiko, a high school student who had moved from Shizuoka to Yamanashi, decides to see the famous, 1000 yen-bill-featured Mount Fuji. Even though she manages to bike all the way to Motosu, she's forced to turn back because of worsening weather. Unable to set her eyes on her goal, she faints partway to her destination. When she wakes up, it's night, in a place she's never been before, with no way of knowing how to get home. Nadeshiko is saved when she encounters Rin, a girl who is out camping by herself. This outdoorsy girls story begins with this first encounter between Nadeshiko and Rin.
