Something that caught our eye over on PC Gamer was an interview with Ethan Redd, lead producer and developer on Blazing Legion: Ignition. Described as Gundam meets Top Gun (Top Gundam, surely?) the game uses cel-shaded graphics and an awesome synth 80's soundtrack to bring a first-person mech-based rebellion to life.
The trailer features trails of missiles a-la Macross and missions based in both space and on-planet, and if the enthusiasm of Mr Redd is met with technical proficiency, then we should have the makings of a great gaming experience on our hands.
Bearing in mind the genre has two amazing titles already in the Gundam Vs series and Japanese Macross Frontier/Delta titles, it has much to compete with. We'll keep our eyes peeled and bring you more as we have it. In the meantime, enjoy the trailer and that soundtrack!
